A 17-year-old has been charged with murder over the stabbing of a man in Wainuiomata earlier this month.
Police were called to Wainuiomata Rd on the morning of April 2 when Daniel Te Mataku was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
Originally, a "young person" was charged with assault with a weapon.
In an update this morning, Detective Inspector Nick Pritchard said police had filed a murder charge against a 17-year-old.
They would appear in the Hutt Valley Youth Court today
