A woman has been charged after allegedly being caught while burgling a South Auckland laundromat for the ninth time in less than three weeks.

Between March 26 and April 13, the woman and several associates allegedly burgled the laundromat on Jellicoe Rd in Manurewa on eight separate occasions.

Inspector MinHo Lee said during the burglaries, "washing machines and dryers were broken into, and coins were stolen from the deposit boxes".

Around 7.08am yesterday, Lee said police were alerted to machines at the laundromat being broken into with a hammer and crowbar.

Officers arrived at the scene within minutes where a man and woman were found damaging property.

The pair were arrested at the scene.

"This is a great outcome, with our staff being able to quickly catch a recidivist burglar red-handed," Lee said.

A 29-year-old woman was due to appear in the Manukau District Court today charged with nine counts of burglary and five counts of possession of an instrument for burglary.

A 35-year-old man was due to appear in the Manukau District Court on May 5 charged with burglary and possession of an instrument for burglary.
