Late actor Naya Rivera's son is set to make his feature film debut, six years on from his mother's death.
The American actress, model and singer best known for playing Santana Lopez on Glee and Hillary Winston from The Royal Family, was declared missing on July 8, 2020 after her four-year-old son was found alone on a boat she had rented on Lake Piru in California.
The 33-year-old's body was recovered by search and rescue workers five days later, and her death was later ruled an accidental drowning.
According to Josey's IMDb page, the now 10-year-old would be starring in The Burning Valley, written and directed by Evan Coury.
His father, Ryan Dorsey, was also listed among the cast, meaning the father-son duo could share some screen time in the younger Dorsey's film debut.
Dorsey, 43, has acted in TV shows including Justified and Palm Royale.
Coury told US newspaper The Tribune-Review that the movie was about a steelworker who loses his job when the mill announces a shutdown.
"It sets him on a journey as he wanders through his Rust Belt town," he added.
The film reportedly began filming earlier this month northeast of Pittsburgh.
