Finance Minister Nicola Willis is speaking from Wellington this afternoon about the Government's response to ongoing economic uncertainty related to the conflict in the Middle East.

In particular, fuel stocks in New Zealand would be a key topic as oil prices continue to trend upwards and some petrol stations were reported to have run dry over the weekend.

Speaking to Q+A on Sunday, Willis outlined what the Government was planning as the US and Israel's war with Iran continues to disrupt one of the world's busiest oil trade routes.

The effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which about 20% of the globe’s oil supply flows through, has raised concern about medium and long-term supply of oil to refiners.

The press conference begins at 1pm - watch the livestream link above for more.
