'We've just begun' – nearly 2000 targets in Iran struck by US forces

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on Saturday after the US and Israel conducted joint strikes on the country to trigger regime change.

Today, the top US military commander in the Middle East said American forces have struck nearly 2000 targets in Iran since the operation against the Islamic Republic began.

As of 11am, there were 2924 New Zealanders in the region registered on SafeTravel.

Dave Rennie named new All Blacks coach, says he 'understands the expectations'

Dave Rennie has been named the new coach of the All Blacks.

Rennie, the former Wallabies head coach, beat Jamie Joseph to become Scott Robertson's successor.

"I’m extremely proud to have been entrusted with this role and understand the expectations that come with it," Rennie said.

Luxon forced into correction over Iran war visas

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon had to make a personal explanation in the House last night, after he stated incorrectly that the Government was automatically extending visas for people in New Zealand affected by the war in Iran.

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister admitted he "misspoke" when he said New Zealand supported "any actions" to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons.
