Filming for the latest season of Love Island: All Stars has been postponed after the villa was evacuated due to nearby wildfires in South Africa, UK broadcaster ITV said.
The third series of the Love Island spin-off was due to premiere in the UK on Monday, but its launch has now been delayed indefinitely.
In a statement shared across the programme’s official social media channels, ITV said the decision had been made out of an abundance of caution.
"Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed."
Authorities were working to control several fires in the Western Cape region of South Africa, where the villa was located.
Hosted by Maya Jama, All Stars follows the same format as the original programme, but with former contestants returning to the villa to find their match.
TVNZ recently announced the renewal of its longstanding content partnership with ITV Studios, including the Love Island franchise, The Chase, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
All seasons of Love Island, including All Stars, are streaming now on TVNZ+
