Auckland Grammar School has told form 3 and 4 (year 9 and 10) students to stay home today after a person with measles was confirmed to have been at the school last week.
In a letter to parents sent last night, headmaster Tim O'Connor said the school was informed that a person with measles was at the school while infectious on Friday, October 24.
The school said it had been conferring with the National Public Health Service (Public Health) to develop a plan to reduce the likelihood of measles spreading.

O'Connor said: "What this means for Form 3 and 4 students is that the school will be closed for them tomorrow, Friday, 31 October 2025, while we undertake contact tracing with Public Health."
"Public Health will be checking the New Zealand vaccination records of Form 3 and 4 students, which are held both nationally and at the school. They will be identifying any students who do not have records of two doses of MMR vaccination after the age of 12 months."
He said some examinations for other year groups would go ahead as scheduled, and urged students and families to check their vaccination records.
"Thank you for your cooperation and support as we put steps in place to maintain a safe environment for all members of the Grammar community."
Over the long weekend, hundreds of students and several staff at two of Wellington's largest high schools were asked to stay home until public health got in touch after two confirmed measles cases.
Yesterday health officials said there were 13 cases of measles in the current outbreak and over 2000 close contacts identified.
