Farmers agree to sell Fonterra's consumer brands

Fonterra's farmer shareholders have today voted in favour of selling its consumer businesses to French dairy giant Lactalis.

In August, Fonterra agreed to sell its major brands such as Mainland and Anchor for $3.845 billion. Today, a majority of the farmer shareholders agreed.

New flood map reveals hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders at risk

More than 750,000 New Zealanders currently live in areas at risk of major flooding – a number that could rise to 900,000 with 3C of global warming.

The figures come from a five-year national research programme led by Earth Sciences New Zealand, which has also launched the country’s first consistent nationwide flood hazard viewer.

WoF shake-up 'overdue', but Kiwis will need to change habits – mechanic

A mechanic believes a look at the Warrant of Fitness system was "overdue", but said Kiwis would need to change some of their habits for the proposed changes to work.
