Man dies after vehicle rolls into paddock in Waipa

A man has died after a vehicle he was in left the road and rolled into a paddock in Waipa this morning.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Waikoha Rd in Karamu around 7.40am, police said.

The serious crash unit attended the scene.

The circumstances behind the crash are under investigation.

King's Birthday road toll stands at four

A woman died in hospital on Saturday after a single-vehicle crash in Port Waikato on Friday night.

A two-vehicle crash in Northland near Waiomio, south of Kawakawa, killed one person just after midnight on Saturday.

One person died and four were injured on Auckland's Northwestern Motorway early on Sunday morning when a car flipped onto its roof.

The official Easter holiday road toll period was from 4pm on Friday to 6am on Tuesday.

Last year, three people died on New Zealand roads during the same period.
