1 67 confirmed dead in jet-helicopter collision in Washington DC
A midair collision between an Army helicopter and an American Airlines flight from Kansas killed all 67 people aboard the two aircraft, officials said Friday, as they scrutinised the actions of the military pilot after the country's worst aviation disaster in a generation.
At least 28 bodies were pulled from the icy waters of the Potomac River after the helicopter apparently flew into the path of the jet on Thursday as it was landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, officials said. The plane carried 60 passengers and four crew. Three soldiers were aboard the helicopter.

Health Minister Simeon Brown has confirmed the new inpatient building for Dunedin Hospital will be built on the site of the former Cadbury factory.
Brown, who was allocated the portfolio earlier this month, said there would be 351 beds, with the capacity to expand to 404 over time.
It comes after protests across the city last year, when the Government said the project was unafforable and began looking at ways to cut costs.
