Hurricane Ruben Love undergoes ankle surgery

The Hurricanes have suffered an injury blow with fullback Ruben Love sidelined for the start of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The Hurricanes announced on social media that Love has had surgery on an ankle injury that he has been managing in pre-season.

He is expected to be out for three to four months.

"I look forward to being back to full fitness next year to represent the people of the Hurricanes region and going to battle with my brothers," Love added.

Love made his debut for the All Blacks in October against Japan, scoring two tries in their 64-19 victory.

The Hurricanes start their Super Rugby season against the Crusaders in Christchurch on February 14.
