The Black Caps are testing two of their bowlers to see if they'll be fit for the third Test of the series against India in Wankhede.
Black Caps second Test hero Mitch Santner has been experiencing a side strain off the back of his 13-wicket haul in the historic Pune Test.
Black Caps head coach Gary Stead said they would be monitoring Santner's injury at training with his selection not confirmed for the third Test.
"Mitch has got a little bit of a sore side, he felt it in the first innings and he still managed to get through a lot of overs in the second, but he is in a little bit of discomfort," said Stead. "He's had three days to let it settle and we'll test it today and see where he's at before we can make a call on him."
Santner achieved career-best figures of 13-157 in the second Test to help guide the Black Caps to their first Test series victory in India.

Seam bowler Matt Henry is also being tested to see if he's fit.
Henry played a key role in the first Test in Bengaluru as he took figures of 8-117, but was forced to sit out the Pune Test due to a glute injury.
The doubt over their availability adds to the Black Caps' growing injury list.
Kane Williamson has already been sidelined from the India series to allow him time to recover for the home England Test series starting November 28.
"It's always disappointing when he's not over here with us, he's New Zealand's greatest Test run-scorer for a reason. I think when you have Kane in your side, it looks a stronger side as well but we've adapted well without him here.
"The best thing for Kane is to get himself right for England and we're certainly looking forward to him coming back and hopefully making a difference in that Test series for us."
Seam bowler Ben Sears was ruled out of the India Test series with a knee injury, and Stead confirmed yesterday that the 26-year-old is unlikely to be available for England.
Sears is having surgery on his knee and Stead hopes he will be back before Christmas.
Stead said his team need to adapt to how the surface will play in the third Test.
"It's a red clay surface which does usually suit the spinner and the pitches here have been a bit different to what we expected.
"The Bangalore one was a lot harder and didn't spin too much whereas the last pitch did and I guess that's one of the most pleasing things, we think we've got a squad here that can adjust and adapt."
The third Test of the series gets underway tomorrow with first ball at 5pm NZT.
