A North Carolina family has reunited with a beloved pet cat they thought they had lost amidst Hurricane Helene.
As the family was evacuating, their cat Ricardo Blanco floated away in their neighbourhood.

They also highlighted the success of Northland's conservation project Kiwi Coast.
Coordinator Ngaire Sullivan said it's an acknowledgement of a huge volunteer effort.

An Australian teenager has secured some high-profile entertainment for his school formal afterparty.
DJ duo Peking Duk is set to play at their backyard event following a very sweet email from 15-year-old Kai McPhan.
"I've got some best mates leaving at the end of the year and I want this to be perfect," the email read, with Kai signing off with "kindest of all kind regards".
His request has gone viral — undoubtedly making the teen very popular at school.

The three-minute "cuddle cap" was introduced to keep traffic moving in the airport's drop-off area.
