A United Airlines pilot treated passengers to a generous surprise when he ordered 30 pizzas to the airport following an emergency landing.
The nonstop flight departed from San Francisco on September 13, and was scheduled to arrive in Houston a few hours later.
However, one of the passengers on board the flight said the plane made an emergency landing in New Mexico soon after takeoff.
"We had an emergency landing in New Mexico... due to a medical emergency with a passenger," said Tanya Stamos.
Stamos said passengers were asked to exit the plane and were not given an explanation why.
However, the 44-year-old told Fox Digital that passengers were shocked when the "absolutely amazing" pilot forked out his own money to buy dinner for the stranded passengers.
"He felt so bad for the situation that he ordered 30 pizzas from a local pizza shop and had it delivered right to our gate and then made sure all 150 passengers ate before he made himself a plate," she said.
Stamos said the captain did not hesitate to go "above and beyond" to ensure the passengers were cared for.
The flight was able to take off later that evening and arrived safely in Houston early the next morning.
