1 Annual, sick leave changes mooted as Govt seeks Holidays Act 'certainty'
The Government will carry out "targeted consultation" as it looks to change the Holidays Act in an effort to "increase certainty and reduce complexity", acknowledging some people's frustration with how the law currently works.
Labour has criticised the changes, with spokesperson Camilla Belich saying part-time workers could receive less sick leave under the proposal.

A "routine" police visit in Napier last night escalated after a firearm was spotted through a window — and ended with the seizure of 5.5kg of methamphetamine.
"They were at the property to undertake a fairly routine policing task," Detective Inspector Martin James said.
"But they were also focused on the bigger picture."

A Nebraska funeral home discovered that a 74-year-old hospice patient who was declared dead by her nursing home two hours earlier was actually still alive, so workers started CPR and she was rushed to a hospital, where she died hours later.
It's not clear how often incidents such as Monday's happen, but at least two similar ones have been reported at funeral homes in New York and Iowa in the past 18 months.

5 Airline fined for ignoring order not to board NZ-bound passenger
An immigration officer had doubts the passenger was a genuine visitor to New Zealand and wanted to speak to him before he got on the plane.
An investigation found the airline had received notification the man wasn't allowed to board the flight to NZ and an immigration officer wanted to speak with him, and the airline directed its ground handling agent to intercept him.
The agent admitted boarding the passenger despite being aware of the instructions.
