A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck near the Kermadec Islands northeast of New Zealand.
The quake struck at 3.54am on Saturday and was 19.6km deep according to the United States Geological Survey.
No tsunami alerts have been issued on New Zealand Government channels.
A second earthquake, measured at a 5.1 magnitude, struck in the same area at 9.06am at a depth of 32.2km.
