New Zealand's most decorated Paralympian and her husband have welcomed their first child.

Sophie Pascoe and her husband Rob Samson have welcomed their first child — sharing the news in a post online.

The 11-time Paralympic gold medallist recently shared a black and white image to Instagram showing their hands entwined with their son's fingers.

"It's been the best few weeks already with our baby boy. We are just so in love!" the post read.

Pascoe is New Zealand's most decorated Paralympian, who received a damehood in 2022 after having to delay the ceremony due to catching Covid.

She previously told 1News she found love during the Covid-19 lockdown.

"I found love through Covid which has been a nice positive," an emotional Pascoe said. "[They're] someone who stuck by me through a rough time."
