Victims of fatal Southern Marlborough crash named by police

Police have named the two people who were killed in a serious crash in Southern Marlborough last week.

They were Philip Donald Wightman, 67, and Suzanne Elizabeth Watson, 58, of Southland.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 1 near Kekerengu shortly before 11am on Thursday, March 28.

Two people were killed in the crash, while two others were hospitalised with moderate injuries.

"Police extend our condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time."

Inquiries into the crash remain ongoing.
