Kiwi driver Shane van Gisbergen has been honoured by the Nascar Hall of Fame for his historic victory on the streets of Chicago last year.
His race suit and boots have been added to an exhibit in North Carolina as part of a wider display on the championship's debut street racing event.
"It's a privilege, that's for sure," said van Gisbergen.
"It's pretty cool to have our own little momento for it, and it's cool to be in a place like this."
"You obviously dream of winning a race, but we were not sure how we were going to go. It’s such a different world to what I’m used to and where I’ve come so to have a great race and to win the race was pretty unexpected, but a pretty awesome moment."
He visited the Hall of Fame prior to making his debut in Chicago last year, and said to now have something in there is "pretty epic."
The Chicago victory by the three-time Supercars champion was significant for several reasons. He was the first New Zealander to ever win a Nascar event, and it was also the first time a driver on debut had won a Nascar Cup Series event in six decades.
The event returns on July 7 and van Gisbergen is among the favourites to win.
