Person dies following three-car crash in Marlborough

One person has died following a three-car crash in Okaramio, Marlborough, this afternoon.

Police say they were called to the scene on State Highway 6 around 2.28pm.

One person died at the scene.

Two others sustained moderate injuries.

The serious crash unit attended the scene and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw an olive-coloured Nissan Maxima travelling along SH6 between 2pm and the time of the crash has been asked to contact police.

The Easter holiday road toll has risen to six.
