Hurricanes extend lead at top of Super Rugby Pacific table

March 30, 2024
TJ Perenara scored his 60th Super Rugby try and is one try away from the all-time leading try-scorer in Super Rugby.

The Hurricanes extend their lead at the top of the Super Rugby Pacific table with a 47-12 win in Dunedin and keep their unbeaten streak this season intact.

The Highlanders were blown away by the intensity of the Hurricanes side across the park and the visitors took a 26-0 lead at the break.

After ten minutes, Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens received a yellow card and the Hurricanes made the man advantage count, scoring two converted tries before the fullback returned to the field.

Hurricanes prop Tyrel Lomax made his 100th appearance in Super Rugby alongside TJ Perenara made his 154th appearance and became the all-time leading appearance maker for the Hurricanes.

The win came at a cost for the Hurricanes though as their star halfback Cam Roigard, went off injured clutching his knee mid-way through the second half.
