After years of service at Wellington Zoo, Zeus the lemur — who has 14 kids — is moving to Hamilton Zoo.
"He's not going to breed here again at Wellington Zoo, but he will be breeding in the future," primate keeper Lisa Ridley said.
Zeus had a medical procedure about a week ago, where an implant was placed behind his ear to stop him from breeding this season.
This is so Wellington's lemur conspiracy can introduce a new male into the group to provide different genetics.

Zeus' implant is temporary, and he will be moved to Hamilton Zoo soon where it will be removed.
"He can start his reign again," Ridley said.
"We're going to miss him, and he really is a super-dad, and he's a fantastic male lemur to have in the group," she said.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Wellington Zoo said: "It's time for a well-deserved break to ensure he doesn't feel... overworked?"
