Police name victim of Dunedin 'unexplained death'

Police have named the Dunedin man who was found dead at his Hillary Street home yesterday in 'unexplained' circumstances.

He was 27-year-old Gurjit Singh.

"A significant effort is being put into establishing the circumstances which led to this unexplained death," said Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis.

Around 25 investigators are speaking to family, friends and work colleagues, in a bid to piece together his movements in the days prior to his death.

ESR scientists and investigators are at the Hillary Street property.

A post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any unusual activity in the street on January 28 and 29 to get in touch.
