Matty McLean's co-presenters on Breakfast shared their fondest memories of the outgoing host on his second-to-last show this morning.

Tomorrow is McLean's last day on Breakfast after seven years as host.

Anna Burns-Francis began by playing a clip of McLean's liveliest openings on the show.

"Having worked with you this year, I have never had such pleasure and joy in waking up and getting to work next to and sit next to someone who is in just such a radiant, gorgeous, beautiful mood every single day," she said. "You are so enthusiastic.

"And you're always up for anything really stupid, even when it goes terribly wrong."

Newsreader Chris Chang opted to read messages from the show's behind-the-scenes staff.

Matty McLean's co-presenters on Breakfast shared tributes to the outgoing host this morning.

One called McLean "a light bulb" who always lights up the room, while others talked of his genuineness and generosity.

"You're an accomplished cocktail of presenting talent," Chang read. He then paid his own compliments to McLean.

"You are such a top man, and I have had such a blast working with you this year.

"I just have a massive amount of respect for you. You are like a scarecrow, outstanding in your field."

Jenny-May Clarkson teared up at her turn. "We connected straight away," she said.

"But our connection grew even more when we sat on this couch together during Covid times as co-presenters."

Clarkson played a clip of the group dancing on social media.

"I'm going to muss you, my friend."
