Business is booming for Kiwi Christmas tree farms despite concerns cost of living pressures would mean a slower season.
The huge demand has seen supplies already running low at some farms.
Taupaki Christmas Trees’ Julie Mincham said it’s been super busy for her team this festive season.
"It's just exceeded all other years, and we've been really surprised by the amount of people that have come out."
Central Auckland’s Misa Christmas tree farm is reporting similar results, with owner Michael Fuyala telling 1News it has only been getting busier and busier over the past 5 years.
"When we had Covid a few years back, we were concerned people were going to buy fewer trees, but they bought more trees," he said.
"Then we had a recession, and again we were concerned people would buy fewer trees, but again they bought more trees.
"Now we've got a cost-of-living crisis, and people are still buying more trees."
Costs have seen the price of Christmas pines rise, with some large trees going for just north of $100.
"We've put them up just a little bit this year because the cost of everything else has gone up - fertiliser, sprays, all that sort of stuff, labour costs have all gone up," Mincham said.
1News reporter Jacob Johnson went along to check out the trees on offer this year in the festive video above.
