A worker injured in a robbery at a liquor store in East Auckland this morning is now in a stable condition in hospital.
Police said the incident took place at Chapel Downs Discount Liquor on Dawson Rd, in Flat Bush, around 11.18am.
Hato Hone St John responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit and one manager.
Witnesses told 1News they saw a bloodied worker who was later taken to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.
Dairy and Business Owners Group chairman Sunny Kaushal said the new Government needed to follow through on election promises.
"They have clearly promised to New Zealand that they would restore law and order in New Zealand, they will get tough on crime," he said.
"Now it is time for them to walk the talk."
