Man found dead after snorkelling at Wairarapa's Riversdale Beach

A man has been found dead after he went snorkelling off the coast of Riversdale Beach yesterday afternoon.

The man was reported missing last night, with police, Police Search and Rescue, Surf Life Saving, Wairarapa Helicopters and Westpac Rescue Helicopter conducting searches of the area for the man.

"Police would also like to thank other members of the community who assisted," a spokesperson said.

"Police extended our condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time."

The man's death has been referred to the coroner.
