Ten days without a game has given the Breakers some time to contemplate.
Last year's finalists are in a sticky spot with just three wins from 10 games so far in the new season, as they try to stop the slide in Christchurch tonight.
Coach Mody Maor told 1News the break has given the side a chance to ask the tough questions.
"How we go about our business, how we practice, how we recover, how focused we are on our daily things," he said.
"Hopefully the results will be a by-product of that."
It's been a similar blunt review by the players.

"Apart from the last game, we've had some games where the opposition teams have been able to do whatever they want on offence," Cam Gliddon said.
"We need to change that."
Among other factors, two key injuries haven't helped with standout Australian Will McDowell-White and American Zylan Cheatham both out with a fractured foot.
Maor said he was "sick" of having to talk about the injuries.
"Zee is out for a few more weeks, Will is out for more, and that's the team we have," he said.
"We like the team we have, I believe in the players I have."
Nearly 5000 fans turned up four weeks ago in Christchurch to support the side and they'll be hoping for that and more to get them back to winning ways.
