Snoop Dogg has claimed on social media that he will be no longer be smoking weed every day - although some aren't taking the bombshell announcement at face value.
The 52-year-old rapper, real name Calvin Broadus Jr, has been a long-standing advocate for cannabis, making the drug a significant part of his image and lifestyle during his 31-year career.

However this morning, he took to social media to announce he was "giving up smoke".
"After much consideration & conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke," Snoop wrote.
"Please respect my privacy at this time."
The post didn't make entirely clear what "smoke" he was giving up, with responses mixed to the announcement, many supporting the rapper's choice while others mourned his possible sobriety.
"His blunt roller just dropped to their knees in a Walmart," one person commented on Instagram.
"Okay I never believed in the 'end of times' but I now do," another said.
"Health above anything else. Snoops setting a great example to everyone. Respects (sic)," someone wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"This is probably just gonna be some viral campaign where he launches his own line of vapes or edibles or something," one user pondered.
Snoop has quit cannabis in the past, previously announcing his abstention in 2002 and telling Access Hollywood at the time that he "didn't need it anymore".
His sobriety did not last however, telling AllHipHop.com in 2013 that he smoked as much as 80 blunts every day.
