The Black Ferns are in the mix for all three remaining World Rugby Awards this year with finalists for the three women's categories yet to be presented announced this morning.
Black Ferns co-captain Ruahei Demant leads the way as a finalist for women's 15s player of the year where should could become the first women in history to win the award twice.
She faces stiff competition from England's Marlie Packer and Abby Dow as well as French centre Gabrielle Vernier.
Packer in particular emerged as a frontrunner for the award with the English captain scoring a world-leading 11 Test tries this season.
Rookie wing Mererangi Paul is up for two awards with her play recognised in both the women's breakthrough player of the year section as well as try of the year - the latter nomination coming for her effort in finishing an impressive Black Ferns move against Canada.
Paul isn't the only Black Fern up for breakthrough player of the year though with dual-code international Katelyn Vahaakolo also named.
Vaakaakolo and Paul made their Black Ferns debuts in the same Test match this year against the Wallaroos during the Pacific Four Series and have wasted little time pushing their cases for selection with coach Allan Bunting naming both in his 23 for this weekend's WXV1 finale against England.
The announcements come after the All Blacks had a strong showing at this year's ceremony in Paris where Ardie Savea won his first men's 15s player of the year and Mark Tele'a walked away with the men's breakthrough player of the year.
