A community has rallied after guests were a no-show at a Wellington boy's third birthday party.
William Buck's dad, Steven, posted to the Vic Deals Facebook page over the weekend: "Bit of a guilty parent post here.
"It is our son's 3rd birthday and we have planned a cool little party at the beach. He is super excited and has been looking forward to it all week, but due to illness, travel, and other last minute happenstances, our party has no attendees!"
He said if anyone was in the area, William would love some friends to play with.
"He has Hot Wheels, sand toys, dinos, and we have some snacks and drinks."

Speaking to Breakfast this morning, Steven said they were "teary eyed" when no one showed up.
"In the end the turn out was great, the community support was awesome," Steven said.
William's mum Bridget said a couple then approached them on the beach after seeing the Facebook post and gifted William a blow up shark.
"Another mum came down with her two kids and brought bubbles, we had a great day," she said.
Steven added: "I've always believed. you know. New Zealanders really step up when they need to and sort of really help each other out so I've definitely seen this all around the country and would love to see more of it."
Steven's post garnered over 130 comments, all wishing William a happy birthday.
