One dead after two-vehicle crash in Waikato

One person has died after a two-vehicle crash near Whatawhata in Waikato this morning.

The crash occurred on State Highway 23 near Māori Point Rd and was reported around 9.15am.

A police spokesperson said that enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

"The road remains blocked while the Serious Crash Unit examine the scene and diversions are in place."
