Police are looking to speak to the drivers of three cars captured on CCTV, who might have seen missing Auckland father Dylan Barford, before he disappeared in late September.
The father of two has been missing since September 23. Police and his family have "concerns" for his safety.
He was captured on CCTV footage in the vicinity of the Westgate Shopping Centre around 12.30am on Sunday, September 24.
Police now want to speak to the drivers and occupants of three vehicles that were sighted travelling north on State Highway 16 between State Highway 18 and Brigham Creek Rd in the early hours of that day.
Police believe a person "likely to be Dylan was seen in the vicinity of this portion of the motorway a short time beforehand".
The first vehicle, described as silver, was seen travelling along the road around 4.27am that morning.
"The vehicle is seen slowing down on the motorway and eventually stops on the shoulder of the motorway, backing onto Costco Northwest, Westgate."
Police say the car stopped for four minutes before leaving at 4.32am.
The second vehicle, a dark sedan, was spotted "briefly breaking on the motorway" around 4.29am and passed the parked vehicle before continuing north.
A white sedan was also seen "heavily braking" while travelling north and passing the same parked vehicle.
"Police would like to ascertain the reason for their braking or stopping as described.
"Please contact Police on 105, referencing case file number 230924/2185 if you were driving or travelling in any of the vehicles described above in the early hours of Sunday 24 September."
Authorities are also asking anyone who might have seen Barford to call them on 105.
He is described as being of medium build and has tattoos on the rear of his right elbow and left forearm. Barford was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue Adidas tear-away pants late in the evening of Saturday, September 23.
"His family have requested that their privacy is respected during this difficult time."
