Child dies after being hit by car on driveway in Waikato

A child has died after being hit by a car in Tuakau, Waikato, this afternoon.

Police said the incident occurred on a Martindale Lane driveway around 12.25pm.

The child died at the scene.

"Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
