One dead after two-car crash in Auckland yesterday afternoon

One person has died after two vehicles collided in Auckland's East Tāmaki yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Smales Road at around 4.20pm, where they found one person had suffered critical injuries.

They died after being rushed to hospital.

"Our sincere condolences go out to their family and friends at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.

Enquiries into the crash remain ongoing.
