SH1 blocked in both directions north of Kaikōura after crash

A crash has closed both lanes of State Highway 1 north of Kaikōura.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash in Clarence at around 7.15pm.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time," a police spokesperson said.

"Police thank motorists for their patience."
