Second person dies after East Auckland crash

A second person has died after a crash in East Auckland on Wednesday.

The two-vehicle crash happened near the intersection of Botany Rd and Golfland Drive just before 3pm.

One person died at the scene.

In an update, police said the driver of one of the cars died in hospital from their injuries earlier today.

Multiple others were injured in the crash.

Police say inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
