12 youth arrested after overnight burglary in South Auckland

Twelve youth have been arrested following a burglary at a store in South Auckland overnight.

Police say they were called to the scene on Great South Rd, in Takanini, around 1.30am following a report a store's windows had been smashed and items were stolen.

The group left the scene in three vehicles to Papakura, police said.

The vehicles were dumped on Alma Crescent.

The group were found at a nearby home.

They will all be referred to Youth Services.
