One dead in Northland crash, brings holiday road toll to two

One person is dead after a crash in Northland last night.

Police were alerted to the crash on Kotata Rise in Port Whangārei at 10.10pm last night.

Three other people in the car suffered minor injuries.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are now underway, police said this morning.

It brings the holiday road toll to two, following yesterday's fatal crash in Manawatū.

The holiday road toll period began at 4pm December 23 and ends at 6am January 4.
