Member of the public finds body near Rotorua's Mission Bay

Police are investigating after a member of the public found a dead body near Waerenga/Mission Bay, Rotorua on Tuesday.

The discovery was made shortly before midday.

"Until we have completed the formal identification process we will be unable to confirm the identity of the body," police said.

The death will be referred to the coroner.
