Person dead after late night crash near Hokitika

One person has died after a crash near Hokitika on the West Coast late on Monday night.

Police said the single vehicle accident happened at around 10.30pm on Upper Kokatahi Rd.

The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

An investigation is underway into the crash.
