Seven Sharp's Rhys Mathewson has headed to Pōkeno to find out what one can buy for $42 million in the town.
A lucky Kiwi won $42 million in Lotto Powerball on Wednesday — the second largest Powerball prize ever won after buying a ticket in the Waikato town.
With a population of around 3320, Mathewson hit the streets to find out what the money could be spent on.
There was 33-and-a-half million scoops of ice cream at the local ice cream shop, RC cars, flat pack furniture from IKEA stocker Idiya and a new housing development.
One of Pōkeno Bacon's owners, Helen Clotworthy, said no big orders had been placed yet.
Pōkeno Bacon has been open for 44 years and Clotworthy said she had never seen anything like the win.
"It's a wonderful thrill for whoever's won it. I hope it's somebody local. I hope it brings happiness to their lives."
