One dead, one seriously injured in Manawatū crash

One person has died and one is seriously injured in a crash in Manawatū on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the crash shortly before 8.30pm.

Two vehicles crashed on Rangitikei Line at Newbury killing the driver of one vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
