Man dies after being hit by a car in the Waikato

A man has died after being struck by a car in the Waikato town of Matamata last night.

The man was walking on the road near the intersection of Taihoa North Road at about 10pm.

He was struck by the car and died at the scene, police say.

The Serious Crash Unit is on the scene.
