When Jordie Barrett runs out for the South team on Saturday, don't expect him to try and pull off any playmaking moves like he would for the Hurricanes.
The All Blacks utility has been named as starting fullback for the South for the match in Wellington - one of only two backs featured in the southern backline who isn't a Crusader.
"It's a Crusaders backline plus [Chiefs halfback Brad Weber] and I," Barrett conceded.
"So there's no point us contributing too much in terms of the style they want to play because that's what they're used to so we're just trying to add our little bit into what they're trying to do and learning along the way."
The rest of the backline features Crusaders Richie Mo'unga at first-five, Jack Goodhue and Brayden Ennor in the midfield and George Bridge and Will Jordan on the wings.
Unlike brother Beauden, who will be playing for the North due to his provincial debut for Taranaki, Barrett is running out for the South due to his career starting out with Canterbury.
He said that link has helped him fit in with his new teammates.
"I've played a bit of footy with [Mo'unga] and [Bridge] so it's nice with this sort of week to come in and every person adds their 10 cents."
The Crusaders dominance in the South line-up extends to the forwards as well, where six of the starting eight in the pack are all from the Christchurch franchise.
