The teams have been named, the positions are solidified, but just who will take the kicking responsibilities for this weekend's North-South game for both squads remains to be seen.

For the South, both Richie Mo'unga and Jordie Barrett could grab the tee for their squad but the Hurricanes star told media today they haven't discussed who actually will this Saturday.

"I'm sure we'll work something out," Barrett said.

"Could be a coin toss, kicking competition [that decides it], who knows."

For the North, Beauden Barrett and Damian McKenzie can also collect points with the boot, although the Chiefs star joked one of his Super Rugby teammates reckons he's the man for the challenge.

"Anton [Lienert-Brown] has actually put his hand up," a grinning McKenzie said, to the laughter of gathered media.

"He's pretty high up the list."

McKenzie then gave a serious answer, saying he and Barrett would probably discuss today who would have kicking responsibilities.

"Whoever does it, does it."
