Person rescued from side of Mount Manganui after medical emergency

A person has been airlifted from the side of Mount Manganui by a rescue helicopter and taken to hospital.

A St John spokesperson has confirmed a patient was transported by helicopter to Tauranga Hospital after suffering a medical emergency.

The person is in a moderate condition.

Video of the rescue shows the helicopter flying low over the side of the mountain, with witnesses reporting that it landed in order to complete the rescue.
