Person dies following house fire in South Auckland

One person has died following a house fire in South Auckland this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Dawood Place, in Manukau, at 6.55am, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson told 1 NEWS.

St John transported one patient in a serious condition to Middlemore Hospital. They remain in a serious but stable condition.

Two other patients were transported. They have now both been released from hospital, a St John spokesperson said.

Police will be investigating the circumstances behind the fire.
