One person killed, another critically injured, in Bay of Plenty two-vehicle crash

One person has died after the car they were in crashed with another in Matata, Bay of Plenty, this morning.

Another person was critically injured and flown to Tauranga Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Thornton Road about 9.20am, police said in a statement.

The road will remain closed for the next few hours while police continue the scene examination.
