Body found after boat sinks in Northland

Emergency services were called to the coast of Hihi just before 8pm yesterday.

Search and Rescue teams looking for a missing 23-year-old man in Northland's Mangonui Harbour have located a body.

Police had been searching for the man who was on a boat which sunk in the harbour last night.

Police were called to reports of a sunken boat in Hihi, Doubtless Bay, at 7.45pm, Wednesday.

Two other occupants of the boat made it safely back to land.

The matter will be referred to the Coroner.
